Inez Clark, 69, of Sarasota, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023. Visitation will take place from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, on Friday, April 21, 2023, at Chandler’s Funeral Home. The Homegoing Celebration will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Greater Hurst Chapel A.M.E. Church, 2730 N Links Ave, Sarasota. Interment will follow at Galilee Cemetery.
Inez graduated from Sarasota High School, class of 1972. She started working at Sarasota school bus system in 1988, where she worked for 32 years. She also was the head custodian for seven years at Brookside Middle School. She was a member of Light of the World International Church. After retirement, Inez enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, doing arts and crafts, gardening, and traveling to different places via cruise ships.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Johnnie Pearl Rainey; sister, Sheila; brothers, Tyrone and Curtis; husband, James Clark and grandparents, John and Armetta.
She is survived by her sons, Lathel Rainey, Sr., and Emanuel Jones III; daughter, Stacey Wilson; goddaughter, Jacoba Morris; father, Eugene Dowling, Sr. and stepmother, Pat Dowling; brothers, Bobby of New York, Morris of Philadelphia, and Eugene Dowling, Jr., of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; sisters, Linda of Maryland, Shirley of New York, and Sandra of New York; 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; Inez also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of other family members and friends.
