Sammie Lee Peterson, Jr., 78, of Sarasota passed away on March 19, 2023. Visitation will be Friday, March 24, 2023, 6-8 p.m. at Chandler’s Funeral Home. Service will be Saturday, March 25, 2023, 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Tabor MB Church, 1703 Tallevast Rd, Tallevast, FL. Interment will be private. Chandler’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Sammie Lee Peterson, Jr. was born on October 1, 1944, in Tallevast, Florida. He was a graduate of Lincoln Memorial High School and was a member of Mount Tabor Missionary Baptist Church. Sammie enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he attained the rank of Master Sergeant (MSGT) and retired after receiving an Honorable Discharge. Sammie Lee Peterson, Jr. transitioned from this earthly life to eternal rest on March 19, 2023. Sammie is survived by: His children: Jenifer Peterson-Hielscher and Sammie Lee Peterson, III; son-in-law, Bryan Hielscher; Stepfather: Reverend Ezell Patterson; Grandchildren: DeVon, Robert, Christopher, David, Samantha, Walter and LaVerne; Eight great-grandchildren; And a host of other relatives and friends.
