Lorane “Kid-o” Cokley 65, of Sarasota departed this life on Monday, January 2, 2023. Homegoing services will be at 12 noon, Saturday, January 14, 2023, at C. L. Chandler Memorial Chapel, 1425 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Way.
Lorane Cokley was born on April 5, 1957, in Hollandale, Mississippi to Henry Cokley, Sr. and Lillie Mae Cokley. He graduated from Henry Weathers High School in Rolling Fort, Mississippi and was employed as a contractor for Cokley’s Plastering Service.
Lorane leaves to cherish memories with: His children: Latasha Henderson (Mario) and Roderrick Houzah (Sasha); Brothers: Henry Cokley, Jr. (Frances), Larry Cokley (Janet), Arthur Ray Cokley, Ricky Cokley, Kelvin Cokley, Felix Cokley, Glenn Neal Cokley and Glendon D. Cokley; Sisters: Climmie Lee Griffin Sapp (Donald), Diane Cokley Harris, Lee Ester Cokley, Lettie Cokley, Cella Stine Cokley Mayes, Brenda Joyce Cokley and Valarie Cokley; Grandchildren: Krishawn Houzah, Stephen Houzah, Ta’Darrius Williams Houzah, Rayonah Houzah and DeMario Evans, Jr.; Four aunts; Godchild: Nickhi Bramble; And a host of other relatives and friends.
