Mother Charles 82, of Nokomis, Florida passed away on August 7, 2023. Visitation will take place from 6:00-8:00PM, on Friday, August 18, at Light of the World International Church, 3809 Chapel Dr. Sarasota, Florida, 34234. The Homegoing Celebration will take place, Saturday, August 19, 2023, 2:00 pm the Light of the World International Church. Interment will be on Monday, August 21, 2023, 11:00 AM at the Venice Memorial Gardens, 1050 Center Road Venice, Florida 34292. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Geralene Charles was born on March 3, 1941, in Winchester, Tennessee to Johnny
Alice Harrington.
Geralene was a graduate of Booker High School, Class of 1959 and attained her certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She was a member of Light of The World International Church where she served actively as a former District Missionary for The Rhema District Church of God in Christ, YPWW President,
Sunday School Teacher, Mothers Board and a member of the Golden Girls. Geralene was employed as a traveling Certified Nurse’s Assistant and a
homemaker.
She was a seamstress, loved to fish and was a big football fan. One of her passions
and love were supporting her grandchildren in their activities. She loved working with her daughter-in-law, Inga Charles and her catering company and ministering to the people since January of 2023.
Geralene Charles transitioned from this earthly life into eternal rest on August 7, 2023, in Sarasota, Florida
She is predeceased by her husband, Glenn Pinkston, son, Fredrick Floyd, mother, Johnny Alice Harrington,
grandson, Carlos Charles and grandmother, Sally Stovall.
